Maintenance of your new polished floors

Use mats at entrance ways and in high traffic areas to protect floor from sand and grit that scratch and cause wear.
Collect dust and dirt using an anti-static mop
Wash the floor using a warm, damp mop (not wet)
Adding a few drops of methylated spirits to the water will help prevent water marks when the floor dries. Do not use bleach
Avoid fading and discolouring over time, by filtering direct sunlight through curtains and blinds.
It is advised to place felt pads or rubber cups on any item of furniture that may move, e.g. chairs, sofa.

Your newly coated floor

Will be safe to walk on in approximately 8 hours, depending on drying conditions, with socks or stockings.
Will be fully hardened in 2 weeks. However, 90% of the curing occurs after 24 hours and after this time, light furniture can be placed carefully using felt pads. Do not drag furniture across the floor.
Lay rugs only after this 2 week period
Will usually last years depending on traffic and maintenance.
It is advisable to arrange a maintenance coat before the floor becomes excessively worn. This will save money on the need for resanding.
